Islamabad, May 21, 2025: The United Arab Emirates is rapidly emerging as a powerhouse in the global tourism job market, with projections showing nearly one million people employed in the sector by the end of 2025.

This remarkable forecast comes from the latest Economic Impact Research (EIR) report released by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC), highlighting the UAE’s dynamic recovery and growth after the pandemic.

According to the WTTC, the UAE’s travel and tourism industry is expected to sustain over 925,000 jobs this year alone—a rise of more than 26,000 roles compared to 2024. This employment surge reflects the nation’s robust efforts to expand its tourism infrastructure and promote itself as a premier international destination.

Tourism Employment Growth:

  • UAE expected to have close to 1 million tourism jobs by end of 2025.
  • WTTC projects 925,000+ jobs in 2025, up 26,000+ from 2024.

Visitor Spending Surge:

  • International visitor spending to hit AED 228.5 billion in 2025 — a 37% rise since 2019.
  • Domestic tourism spending to reach AED 60 billion, up 47% from 2019.
  • Travel and tourism expected to contribute AED 267.5 billion to the economy, nearly 13% of GDP.

2024 Performance Snapshot:

  • Tourism sector contributed AED 257.3 billion to UAE economy.
