Islamabad, 14 May, 2025: The United Arab Emirates has expanded its Golden Visa scheme, introducing new categories to attract experienced professionals from various sectors.

The 10-year residency offers stability without requiring employer sponsorship, allowing family sponsorship for most categories.

Since its launch in 2019, the Golden Visa has offered residency to foreign nationals who contribute to the country’s growth, especially in areas like knowledge, healthcare, education, and creative industries.

The recent expansion of Golden Visa Program reflects the country’s commitment to making the UAE a long-term hub for talent and innovation.

Nurses with Long-Term Residency

The UAE announced a Golden Visa category for nurses who have completed over 15 years of service at Dubai Health. The decision came under the direction of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Minister of Defence.

He said nurses are crucial partners in building a healthier society and improving the quality of life across communities.

Teachers in Private Education

Teachers working in private schools, early learning centres, and universities in Dubai can now apply for the 10-year visa.

The initiative, led by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), is aimed at educators who have shown consistent performance and contributed to raising academic standards.

Ras Al Khaimah has introduced a similar programme for teachers, principals, and senior staff, with support from the Ras Al Khaimah Department of Knowledge.

Content Creators

Dubai opens a new corridor for content creators, filmmakers, and social media influencers.

The Creative Residency track allows qualified content creator applicants to apply for Golden Visa independently, without the need for a sponsor. Applications are managed by Creators HQ.

Gaming and E-Sport Professionals

Dubai has also launched a 10-year residency for professionals in the gaming and e-sports industry as part of its Dubai Programme for Gaming 2033. Applicants must be at least 25 years old and receive approval from Dubai Culture.

Abu Dhabi is also encouraging gaming professionals through a similar visa initiative under its Department of Culture and Tourism.

Yacht Owners Now Eligible

Abu Dhabi has introduced a Golden Visa category for luxury yacht owners under the Golden Quay initiative. To qualify, individuals must own a yacht at least 40 metres in length.

The category also includes professionals linked to the marine industry such as manufacturers, insurers, and brokers. Family sponsorship is also allowed.
