Islamabad, June 25, 2025: In a major diplomatic breakthrough, Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have agreed to waive visa requirements for holders of official and diplomatic passports. The agreement was finalized during the 12th Pakistan-UAE Joint Ministerial Commission meeting, marking a new era in Pakistan-UAE relations.
The two friendly nations signed three major Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) during the high-level meeting, aimed at boosting cooperation across trade, investment, healthcare, education, and energy sectors. According to the Foreign Office, a Joint Task Force has also been established to further ease travel and promote bilateral investments.
A key highlight of the session was the Pakistan UAE visa agreement, which allows diplomatic and official passport holders to travel visa-free. This development is expected to greatly enhance governmental coordination and ease of movement for officials from both countries.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, who co-chaired the session, hailed the meeting as “productive and future-oriented,” especially since it occurred after a 12-year hiatus. He emphasized that the new MoUs signify a strong mutual desire to deepen institutional cooperation and expand economic collaboration between Pakistan and the UAE.
Additionally, both nations reached a milestone agreement to collaborate in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and the digital economy. This forward-thinking pact aims to unlock innovation and drive economic progress in areas of mutual interest.
This diplomatic step not only highlights the growing trust and strategic partnership between Pakistan and the UAE but also signals a shared vision for regional stability, investment growth, and technological advancement.
