Islamabad, Mar 13, 2025: The Foreign Ministry informed the National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday that the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has not officially prohibited visa issuance for Pakistani nationals, contrary to circulating reports.
In an official document presented to the NA, the ministry clarified that while the UAE Work Visas has implemented specific restrictions, these are not equivalent to a complete ban.
The report attributed these limitations to multiple factors, including instances where Pakistani applicants were found submitting fraudulent academic credentials, job offers, and other forged documents.
Additionally, concerns arose over individuals engaging in politically sensitive or criminal activities, as well as sharing inappropriate content online.
The report further pointed out that some Pakistani travelers had overstayed their visas, prompting increased scrutiny from UAE immigration authorities.

However, it was also highlighted that the UAE has recently introduced long-term visas, including five-year residency options, providing new opportunities for eligible applicants.
To resolve these concerns, the Pakistani Embassy in Abu Dhabi has been actively coordinating with UAE officials at both ministerial and under-secretary levels.
Moreover, senior diplomats from Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, specifically from the Middle East Division, have engaged in discussions with the UAE embassy in Islamabad.
The ministry reaffirmed that Pakistani authorities remain in continuous dialogue with their UAE counterparts to ensure a smoother visa process for citizens.
