Islamabad, May 14, 2025: In a significant step towards modernizing agriculture in Pakistan, United Bank Limited (UBL) and Shahzad Trade Link (STL) have joined forces to promote farm mechanization through an innovative partnership.
This agreement aims to bring Belarus Tractors to farmers across the nation with accessible financing options, making it easier for small and medium-sized landholders to adopt advanced agricultural technologies.
The initiative under the Farm Mechanization Scheme focuses on providing direct agricultural loans at an attractive flat markup rate of 9.5 percent, with repayment terms stretched over five years.
This collaboration not only makes farm machinery more affordable but also ensures quicker delivery to farmers, enabling them to boost productivity and optimize their farming operations.
Experts believe that this partnership will play a crucial role in enhancing financial inclusion and supporting the livelihoods of farmers, thereby strengthening Pakistan’s agricultural economy.
“This collaboration reflects our commitment to empowering farmers by providing them with tools that enhance efficiency and long-term sustainability,” said Abdul Aleem Qureshi, Group Executive at UBL.
The agreement was formalized at a ceremony held at the UBL Head Office in Karachi, attended by key stakeholders including Abdul Aleem Qureshi and Shahzad Riaz, Proprietor of STL, along with senior officials from both organizations.
With the backing of UBL and STL, farmers are set to experience a transformation in their farming practices, ensuring they stay competitive in a rapidly evolving industry.
This partnership is just the beginning of a much-needed agricultural revolution in Pakistan.
As both organizations continue to invest in innovative solutions, farmers will have the opportunity to increase their productivity, contributing to the country’s overall economic growth.
