Islamabad, July 31, 2025: The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has formally approved amendments to its Undergraduate Regulations 2024, introducing stricter academic standards for student promotion, probation, resits, and dismissal across all affiliated institutions.
The changes apply to undergraduate programs including BSc Nursing, Allied Health Sciences, Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), and Doctor of Pharmacy. According to the revised policy, students must now secure at least 50% marks separately in theory and practical exams. A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 is also mandatory for degree completion.
Students maintaining a GPA of 1.7 or above, while passing all subjects, will be promoted to the next semester. However, those who fail or seek improvement will be allowed to sit for a resit examination held after every two semesters.
Failure in the resit will result in the student being demoted to the previous semester, and repeated failure may lead to expulsion. One-time readmission during the degree tenure will be permitted.
The revised UHS Undergraduate Regulations 2024 also include provisions for makeup classes in case of short attendance. Furthermore, the Syndicate approved updates to recent undergraduate exam results to align them with the new policy.
