Islamabad, Sep 20: The UK will provide specialized support to projects that construct zero-emission electric motorbikes, turn agricultural waste into clean energy sources, develop floating solar farms, and use AI to reduce emissions.
Pakistan is not just among the nations most susceptible to the effects of climate change, but it is also among the least equipped. Pakistan is not in a position to quickly alter its vulnerability to climate dangers; yet, Pakistan and the UK collaborate closely on climate preparedness.
The CFA, which is supported by the UK government, offers one-on-one specialized assistance on a variety of topics, including money, gender equality, and social inclusion. The goal is to fortify proposals so that they will attract more investors and get funded.
Jane Marriott CMG OBE, the British High Commissioner to Pakistan, stated:
The astounding variety of these initiatives demonstrates Pakistan’s best-in-class climate leadership. It is also an illustration of how Pakistan and the UK may collaborate to discover indigenous answers to significant problems. I wish these suggestions all the best and am interested to watch how they develop on the global scene.
After two prosperous cycles of supporting fifteen low-carbon projects, CFA will now assist these projects in improving and drawing funding from Pakistani and foreign funders. Among the third cohort are:
1.In Keenjhar Lake, Go Energy (Sector: Power) is constructing a 500MW floating solar project. It would reduce Pakistan’s reliance on fossil fuels, improve air quality, provide clean energy, and create thousands of jobs in the process. It will also accelerate economic growth in the region.
2.Ahya (Sector: Technology) with a digital carbon marketplace and an AI-powered platform for emission assessment and reduction, Ahya aims to drastically cut CO2 emissions.
3. Quintech Sciences (Healthcare Sector) seeks to market Quintech’s bio-detergents to European customers, emphasizing the general, eco-, and health-conscious consumer groups.
4.The Biochar Project, part of the National Rural Support Program (Sector: Agriculture), will turn agricultural waste into biochar, improving soil health and increasing crop yields. By storing carbon, this project lessens the need for synthetic fertilizers, cuts greenhouse gas emissions, and advances environmental sustainability.
5. Vlektra (Sector: e-Mobility) with automobiles built to withstand the challenging road conditions in the nation By increasing the output of their electric motorcycles with no emissions, Vlektra hopes to transform eco-friendly transportation.
6. Pakistan Environment Trust (Sector: Energy) turns agricultural waste into a clean energy source for industry by developing Pakistan’s first large-scale, sustainable biomass supply chain.
7. Five Star Foods (Food & Beverages Sector) constructing a cutting-edge plant to manufacture Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate (R-PET) resin. By reducing the demand for virgin plastic, the effort protects natural resources,
