ISLAMABAD, JULY 31: Many people have hope when the UK announced attractive measures for international students, especially those who would begin their studies in September 2024.
Speaking at the London Embassy Education Conference, Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson emphasized the UK’s dedication to helping overseas students. These people have bravery. They take a leap of faith to explore new possibilities and learn new skills by moving to a new culture that is far from their homes and family. We will do all in our power to support them in their endeavors, and I am incredibly delighted that so many have chosen to take that risk here in the UK,” she said.
Additionally, Phillipson highlighted the graduate visa path, which permits students to remain in the UK for a period of two years following graduation, or three years in the case of PhD candidates. The goal of this program is to give graduates the opportunity to live, work, and contribute to UK society.
The UK Ambassador to the UAE, Edward Hobart, echoed these views when he emphasized the value of foreign students to the UK’s educational system. “With their varied backgrounds, expertise, and abilities, international students from the United Arab Emirates make significant contributions to the United Kingdom.” He told Khaleej Times, “This is a tremendous chance for students thinking about studying in the UK and those getting ready for the new academic year to continue their education and start their professional lives in the UK.
Data backs up this optimistic view. By January 31, 3,690 applications from UAE students were received by the UK’s Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS) for undergraduate programs beginning in September 2024. Growing interest in and trust in the UK’s educational programs is reflected in the growth in applications.
