Karachi, 6th August 2025 — In a symbolic gesture following the UK’s recent decision to lift its air safety ban on Pakistani carriers, British High Commissioner Jane Marriott visited Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, where she boarded a Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight and engaged with the airline’s crew and pilots to observe firsthand the latest safety enhancements and technological upgrades.
The visit, part of the campaign titled “Come Fly With Me,” was captured in a video reel on Instagram, where Marriott is seen receiving her boarding pass, interacting with ground staff, and stepping into the cockpit. During her conversation with the PIA pilots, they showcased modernized cockpit control systems, advanced navigation technology, and upgraded safety protocols implemented as part of Pakistan’s efforts to meet international aviation safety standards.

This follows the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s decision on July 16, 2025, to remove Pakistan from its Air Safety List, enabling PIA to resume direct flights to London, Manchester, and Birmingham starting mid-August 2025.
The tour also highlighted PIA’s continuous investments in flight safety, system upgrades, and crew training, addressing concerns that led to its five-year suspension from UK and EU airspace.
