Britain will officially recognize a Palestinian state this weekend, The Times reported. The move is expected once former US President Donald Trump completes his state visit, as he has openly opposed the decision.
According to Reuters, Prime Minister Keir Starmer had already warned in July that the UK would take this step if Israel failed to ease the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and agree to a ceasefire in its nearly two-year offensive.

The Times, without naming sources, said the announcement would likely come once Trump’s trip concludes today. Britain’s foreign ministry has so far not given any official statement.
