Islamabad, Feb 10: A significant incident unfolded at Allama Iqbal International Airport when over 100 Umrah pilgrims, including women, were offloaded from their flight at the last minute due to the absence of required vaccination certificates. The pilgrims were denied boarding by the airline, which cited the lack of polio and COVID-19 vaccination certificates as the reason.

This led to a protest at the airport, with the stranded passengers expressing their frustration. Many of the affected individuals voiced their distress, stating that they had saved money for this pilgrimage and felt wronged by what they called a mistake made by the travel agent and the airline. They were told to purchase new tickets in order to travel, adding to their disappointment.

As the situation escalated, heated arguments broke out between the airline staff and the passengers, intensifying the chaos at the airport. The incident highlighted the confusion and frustration that arose from the lack of proper documentation, disrupting the plans of many eager pilgrims.
