Islamabad, Aug 25: The Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PAKMMA) has been revived with the support of Prime Minister’s Youth Program. “Under the vision of the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, sports economy has been the key focus”, says Rana Mashood Khan, chairman prime minister youth program.
One of the largest sports events with 150 foreign athletes and around 100 technical officials was successfully held from 17th to 23rd of August in Lahore by generating funds from the private sector.
Chairman Prime Minister Youth Program inaugurated the event and held meetings with the Heads of Sports Federations from other countries visiting Pakistan including the Sports Advisor of H.H. Khaled Bin Hamad Al-Khalifa of Bahrain and the President of International MMA.
The Chairman enlightened them about the vision of the Prime Minister for youth & sports and affirmed his strong resolve for the revival of sports. The President of PAKMMA thanked the Chairman PMYP for his all-out support in making this event a success.
Pakistan has emerged as 3rd strongest team in Asia out of 22 countries, winning 11 medals including 2 gold medals. It has been one of the most trending events on the social media and engaged 140 million youth through social media.
The athletes who won medals aspire to meet the Prime Minister to thank him for the revival of MMA in Pakistan.
