Islamabad, JULY26: In the salt range of Kohistan, an MPhil student from the University of Punjab has found oil reservoirs in limestone rocks that date back thousands of years.
According to Daily Naibaat, Noman Zeb of PU’s geology department, working under Dr. Shahid Ghazi’s supervision, discovered important oil resources in the regions of Khajar, Taral, Badshahpur, Kroli, and Sarhi. Sediments made of limestone contain these reservoirs.
Noman Zeb pointed out that the Potohar Range also had comparable mountain ranges found in his research. He stressed that under government control, a significant amount of oil may be recovered from these places. By using these reservoirs, the nation’s electricity shortfall might be lessened.
