The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has formally responded to recent claims regarding the future of American academic exchange programs in Pakistan.
In a public statement titled “USEFP Addresses Rumors”, the organization clarified that although the Global Undergraduate Exchange Program (Global UGRAD) is currently under review.
The overall partnership between Pakistan and the United States in the field of education remains robust and intact.

USEFP reassured students, parents, and academic institutions that while adjustments may be underway for the UGRAD initiative, the United States remains deeply invested in fostering strong educational and cultural relationships with Pakistan.
Highlighting ongoing collaboration, USEFP noted that over 11,000 Pakistani students are presently enrolled in universities across the U.S., with more actively applying each academic cycle.
In addressing the concerns surrounding current participants of the Global UGRAD Program, the foundation confirmed that all 54 Pakistani scholars presently in the United States will successfully conclude their academic tenures as planned.
These students will continue receiving their allowances, housing benefits, and all associated program support without any disruption.
Moreover, to tackle misinformation, USEFP categorically denied speculation about the cancellation of the Fulbright Program.
The organization reaffirmed that the prestigious Fulbright scholarship remains active, with all enrolled fellows receiving their full financial aid and institutional support. Claims suggesting stranded students or funding withdrawals are unfounded and misleading.
The U.S. Department of State is presently conducting a global review of its educational exchange programs to align them with evolving policy directions.
USEFP has committed to maintaining transparency and pledges to share timely updates as decisions are finalized.
