Islamabad, Jan 15: The Excise and Taxation Department has granted a 15-day extension for the payment of vehicle token taxes, offering vehicle owners an opportunity to clear their dues without facing penalties. The new deadline for payment is set for January 31. This decision comes as a relief for those who may have been unable to settle their taxes on time, allowing them a final chance to comply with the law.
A spokesperson from the department emphasized that failure to pay by the revised deadline could lead to severe consequences. Vehicle owners who miss the Headline will face not only the cancellation of their vehicle registration but also substantial fines, potentially as high as 200% of the outstanding tax amount.Â

In an effort to make the payment process more convenient, the department has extended its operating hours, with excise counters remaining open until 8 PM. This will ensure that taxpayers have ample time to complete their payments, even after working hours
