Islamabad, Jan 23: VEON Group CEO Kaan Terzioglu and Jazz CEO Aamir Ibrahim met with Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos and discussed JazzCash’s role in strengthening Pakistan’s digital payments infrastructure and promoting documentation of economy.
The discussions focused on expanding existing cooperation in fintech services and broadening digital inclusivity in Pakistan. They also deliberated on the country’s journey toward economic growth and digital transformation.
During the meeting, Aamir Ibrahim commended Pakistan’s remarkable economic turnaround, highlighting the significant drop in inflation from nearly 40% in May 2023 to 4.9% in January 2025. He said that this achievement reflects the government’s sound economic policies and commitment to building a stable economy.

Public-private partnerships were also highlighted as a key driver for Pakistan’s transformation to a cashless economy, expanding access to financial services, and addressing systemic challenges. With continued investment in innovation and inclusive policies, the delegation expressed optimism about Pakistan’s ability to unlock unprecedented digital and economic potential.
