Islamabad, June 24, 2025: Respected Indian left-arm spinner Dilip Doshi has died from heart-related problems at the age of 77 in London.

During his career, Doshi featured in 33 Test matches for India and grabbed 114 wickets in total. In addition, he managed to claim 22 wickets from 15 One Day Internationals (ODIs). The left-armer also represented Saurashtra, Bengal, Warwickshire and Nottinghamshire in domestic cricket.

Throughout 238 first-class appearances, Doshi took 898 wickets with a notable average of 26.58. One of his standout performances was against Australia back in 1981. He was a key figure in India’s remarkable 59-run victory at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

Dilip Doshi, who made his debut at the rather late age of 32, was deeply influenced by legendary West Indian cricketer Garfield Sobers during his spell at Nottinghamshire.
