Islamabad, Aug 15, 2025: War 2 box office collection saw YRF deliver two major theatrical releases in under a month. The former was Saiyaara, starring Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda, and the latter was War 2, released on August 14, featuring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR. Staged and directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film generated massive buzz during advance ticket sales.
The waves that Saiyaara had made by breaking almost 10 revenue records may not be as effective as seen yet with the already booting up of YRF with its latest spy action spectacle that has already scored better even on day one thereon.
War 2 was the biggest Hindi movie that released in 2025 and was seen to have taken over the ticket counters. The movie was released in theater along with the Coolie of Rajinikanth which brought about a great competition. The pull of Jr. NTR did drive the initial foot fall in the Telugu speaking geography but the performance of the films in the Hindi geography levelled out after few days. At the end of this day, both the language markets had good figures.

As per the initial trade reports of sacnilk.com, The Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR starrer at Rs 29 crore in the Hindi market, Rs 23.25 crore in the Telugu circuit, and Rs 35 lakh in the Tamil territory. This makes the grand total of all versions to a crazy Rs 52.5 crore.
Comparing, Mohit Suri Saiyaara grossed Rs 21 crore on its opening date i.e. July 18, 2015. These figures make it clear that the War 2 has already got a lead in its box office collection and secured itself the position of the biggest Hindi opener of the year.
