Islamabad, Aug 14, 2025: The target set on War 2 is to reach the 50 crores mark on Friday and Sunday so as to make a good 4-day opening weekend in Hindi markets. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, and featuring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr., and Kiara Advani, the new film is the first-time collaboration between all three actors and is the sixth installment of YRFs massive Spy Universe.
The film is a 2-hour 53 minutes action-thriller certified U/A by the CBFC. The film was evenly distributed across approximately 5,000 screens within the country through Yash Raj Films ensuring that the film has one of the widest releases of a Hindi film with its cast and the company.
Sunday was an indication of advance sales where people could book their tickets but the process has not been explosive. As of Wednesday 1 PM, an estimated 96,000 tickets were sold in the top three national chains and it is estimated to reach 1.6-1.8 lakh.

The word of mouth indicates an opening day Hindi box office of about 35 crores with the performance depending on the word-of-mouth. Good audience reviews are likely to bring in good numbers as far as the walk in is concerned starting mid-night Friday and it will boost the number up to 30 crores on at least Friday; Sunday numbers will be nearer to 30 crores.
This would bring about a solid outlook of the longer opening weekend. With encouraging even initial screenings, War 2 could out-blast its non-holiday opening and live on the holiday bounce forward. The decision is left with the audience and once adopted, the movie has the potential of generating a commercial dynamo in the YRF Spy Universe.
