Islamabad, Oct 25: The Weather Update in Karachi remains persistently hot, with temperatures expected to soar to 40°C.
Weather Update According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department’s (PMD) Early Warning Center, sea breezes may temporarily become inactive during this period.
Today, northwestern winds from Balochistan are affecting the city, while tomorrow and the day after, winds will shift to a northeastern direction from Balochistan.
On Monday and Tuesday, isolated thunderstorms and rain with lightning are forecasted for Umerkot and Tharparkar, while the rest of the province is likely to remain hot and dry.
According to the Met Office’s prognosis from yesterday, Karachi will likely see hot, muggy weather over the next three days.
It is anticipated that hot and dry weather would also affect other districts in the province.
Furthermore, the depression over the west-central Arabian Sea has moved farther northwest during the last 12 hours, per today’s PMD news statement.
The system lies roughly 830 kilometers southwest of Gwadar and 1150 kilometers southwest of Karachi. Its center is around 490 miles northeast of Salalah, Oman, and it is located about 130 km southeast of Duqm and 190 km south-southwest of Masirah.
According to the Met Office, the depression is forecast to continue moving northwest towards the Oman coast and is expected to weaken into a well-marked low-pressure area by the morning of 16 October.
No coastal areas of Pakistan are under threat from this system, the Met Office confirmed.
