Islamabad, July 25, 2025: Netflix renews Wednesday for Season 3 before Season 2 even premieres, more mystery, more mayhem and more Addams Family chaos awaits.
Netflix has officially renewed Wednesday for a third season, even before Season 2 has premiered. The confirmation came on July 23, 2025 showing how positive Netflix is about the show’s continued success. Season 2 will be released in two parts: Part 1 on August 6 and Part 2 on September 3. Although, fans have not seen the new season yet, this early comeback shows that Netflix is fully behind the series and its star, Jenna Ortega who plays Wednesday Addams.

The first season, released in November 2022 was a gigantic hit. It broke records by becoming Netflix most-watched English language series ever with over 341 million hours watched in the first week and more than a billion hours in total. Its spooky style, quirky humour and Jenna Ortega’s viral dance scene helped it become a worldwide favourite. The show won many awards and set high expectations for the next chapters of the Addams Family story.
The show creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, said Season 3 will focus more on the characters and the strange world of Nevermore Academy. Season 2 will bring in new faces like Steve Buscemi as the school’s principal and Joanna Lumley as Grandmama Frump. There is also a rumour that Lady Gaga might appear. Ortega, now also a producer said this season will focus more on Wednesday’s emotions and growth with less romance and a bigger, more creative approach.

Netflix is also thinking about making a sequel series set in the same Addams Family world. Nothing is confirmed yet but the idea is being seriously discussed. One possible spin-off could follow Uncle Fester, who was a fan favourite in Season 1. Director Tim Burton is still involved and loves the characters, though he is not usually focused on long-term plans. With all this traction, it is clear Netflix sees Wednesday as a big part of its future.
