Islamabad, Jan 27:  The West Indies secured a historic 120-run victory against Pakistan in the second Test at Multan, marking their first Test win on Pakistani soil in years. The win was punctuated by an exceptional performance from Jomel Warrican, whose match-winning bowling and entertaining mimicry of Sajid Khan’s unique celebration stole the limelight.

Pakistan, chasing a challenging target of 253 runs, faltered under the pressure, collapsing to just 132 runs. Warrican’s spin bowling played a key role in dismantling Pakistan’s middle and lower order, earning him his second five-wicket haul in Test cricket. With match figures of 9/91, Warrican was not only named Player of the Match but also Player of the Series, having taken a remarkable 19 wickets across four innings.

The drama didn’t end with Warrican’s impressive bowling. The left-arm spinner also played a part in dismissing Pakistan’s Sajid Khan, and his post-dismissal celebration quickly went viral. Mimicking Sajid’s earlier antics in the match, Warrican waved four fingers across his face a nod to Sajid’s own celebration after taking Warrican’s wicket. Sajid had earlier paid tribute to WWE superstar John Cena’s “You can’t see me” gesture, and Warrican upped the humor by incorporating Sajid’s signature “thigh-five” move, slapping his thigh with an open hand.

This lighthearted exchange added a refreshing touch of humor to an otherwise intense match, underscoring the camaraderie and competitive spirit between the two sides. Beyond the playful antics, Warrican’s all-around performance, including his vital contributions with the bat, was pivotal in helping the West Indies set a defendable target and seal a memorable victory.

With the series now in the history books, Jomel Warrican’s heroics both on and off the field will undoubtedly be remembered by fans and players alike.
