Lahore, April 16: The Pakistani auto market is showing remarkable resilience in 2025 despite economic headwinds and import restrictions.
Consumers are adjusting to price-sensitive decisions, and local manufacturing is regaining momentum. Here’s a look at which car brands and models are topping the charts this year—and why.
Suzuki Reigns Supreme with Affordable Models
According to data released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA), Suzuki continues to dominate sales. The Suzuki Alto retains its crown as the most sold car, with 27,985 units sold between July 2024 and March 2025. Its affordability and fuel efficiency make it a top choice for urban commuters.
The Suzuki Cultus and Suzuki Wagon R also maintain strong positions, with 6,020 and 4,764 units sold, respectively. For many Pakistanis, Suzuki represents reliability, cost-effectiveness, and access to spare parts—critical factors for long-term ownership.
Honda and Toyota Focus on Premium Segments
While Suzuki leads in volume, Honda and Toyota are holding their ground in the premium and family segments. The Honda City & Civic lineup recorded 5,449 units sold during the same period, slightly outperforming Toyota Corolla, which registered 5,221 units.
Toyota’s strategy of local assembly and hybrid variants continues to appeal to mid- to high-income households looking for durability and long-term value.
Auto Market Outlook for 2025
The resurgence in sales suggests increasing consumer confidence and gradual stabilisation in the automobile sector. Despite challenges like inflation and currency fluctuations, manufacturers are exploring locally assembled vehicles and EV options to meet evolving demand.
Experts believe that continued investment in local production and government incentives for green vehicles could reshape Pakistan’s auto landscape over the next 5 years.
