Islamabad, July 22, 2025: Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a rain alert, warning of urban flooding and landslides in several regions from July 22 to 23.

Heavy rainfall is expected on 22nd and 23rd July across several regions. As a result, there is a risk of flooding in local streams and seasonal nullahs in areas including Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Mansehra, Kohistan, Abbottabad, Buner, Charsadda, Swabi, Mardan, Murree, Galiyat, Nowshera, Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Dera Ghazi Khan, northeastern Punjab, Kashmir and Balochistan. The general public is advised to exercise caution during this period.

There is also a possibility of urban flooding in low-lying areas of Islamabad/Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sialkot, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Okara, Nowshera and Peshawar due to the expected intense rainfall on these dates.

On Tuesday, rain with thunder and strong winds is expected in Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeastern Balochistan. There is a chance of heavy rainfall at isolated locations in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, northeastern Punjab, Kashmir, and nearby hilly areas. Meanwhile, the southern regions of the country are likely to remain hot and humid.

In addition, landslides may occur in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Murree, Galiyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan which could lead to disruptions in vehicular traffic and access routes. Stay updated through official weather alerts and news.
