Xiaomi has officially revealed the first glimpse of its highly anticipated Xiaomi 17 Pro and Pro Max teaser, confirming that the series will debut later this month in China. The spotlight is on a groundbreaking addition – a secondary “Magic Back Screen” on the rear, setting these models apart from their rivals.

Unlike past releases, Xiaomi is skipping the 16 series and moving straight to the 17 lineup, aiming to directly compete with Apple’s iPhone 17 series. The design overhaul is equally striking, featuring a large edge-to-edge rectangular camera module that integrates the innovative rear display.

The teaser showcases the Magic Back Screen in action – allowing customizable clock faces, acting as a selfie preview, showing app alerts, and even displaying dynamic graphics. This upgrade looks far more ambitious than Xiaomi’s earlier Mi 11 Ultra rear screen experiment in 2021. By the looks of it, the brand is holding back even more features for the launch event.

On the performance side, the Xiaomi 17 series will be the first smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. Battery capacity is another highlight, with the standard Pro model expected to feature a 7,000mAh cell, while the Pro Max could push up to 7,500mAh – a major advantage for heavy users.
