Xiaomi has officially introduced its HyperOS 3.0 Android 16 update, unveiling the beta rollout schedule along with the first list of compatible devices. While the announcement was made in China, the international release may arrive later with some changes in features and timelines.
The new Xiaomi HyperOS 3.0 delivers a refreshed design, offering redesigned icons, a modernized status bar, and the highlight feature — Super Island. Xiaomi has also enhanced AI-driven functions and system optimizations to boost performance and efficiency.
Super Island is quite similar to Apple’s Dynamic Island, providing users with real-time updates on app activity, calls, reminders, bookings, and media playback. Unlike iOS, Xiaomi’s Super Island remains active directly within the notification panel, making it more accessible.
The HyperOS 3.0 Android 16 update also introduces cleaner, minimalistic icons, customizable home screen grids, and a refined status bar for a smoother interface. Xiaomi showcased a newly designed dialer application, though this version seems to be limited to Chinese ROMs, while global variants will likely continue using Google’s Phone app.
Another highlight is Xiaomi’s new cross-device connectivity, allowing seamless file transfers between Xiaomi phones, iPads, Macs, and even iPhones, much like Oppo and OnePlus ecosystems.
