Younis Khan, the former captain of Pakistan, stated that he is “always ready to serve” both the city and cricket in Karachi, highlighting his dedication to the sport.

At the Karachi Premier League (KPL) launch event, Khan reflected on his early days in cricket, recalling his experiences playing for Karachi at the U-14, U-16, and U-19 levels. He also noted the challenges of breaking into Karachi’s highly competitive first-class team.

“The KPL can be a turning point for grassroots cricket,” Khan said, expressing his belief that the league has the potential to revolutionize cricket at the grassroots level. He added that the competition could uncover talented young players and give them a platform to shine.

The city’s best young cricketers will be on display when the Karachi Premier League kicks off on November 1.

Following his appointment as head coach of the Bangla Tigers, Younis Khan will focus on the upcoming season of the Abu Dhabi T10 League.

If he establishes his credentials in franchise cricket, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) might consider him as a candidate for the role of white-ball head coach, which is currently vacant. The 2009 T20 World Cup-winning skipper could be the key to restoring Pakistani cricket to its former glory.
