Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has made the decision to dispatch Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar to Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in order to aid Pakistani students affected by recent events in the country.
Accompanied by Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Engineer Amir Muqam, the Deputy Prime Minister will depart for Bishkek on Sunday morning via a special flight, as announced in a press release from the PM House.
Despite the situation being brought under control, the delegation is being sent to provide essential assistance and support to Pakistani students, the press release stated. During the visit, the Deputy Prime Minister will engage in meetings with senior officials from Kyrgyzstan and ensure the provision of medical aid to injured students.
Additionally, he will assess arrangements for the safe repatriation of Pakistani students back to their homeland. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has been closely monitoring the situation, maintaining contact with the Pakistani ambassador in Bishkek throughout the day. He expressed deep concern over the recent violence against foreign students in Kyrgyzstan and directed the provision of all possible assistance to affected Pakistani students.
Furthermore, he instructed that those desiring to return to Pakistan be facilitated at the government’s expense. The Prime Minister reassured that the government stands firmly with the students during this challenging period, ensuring continuous communication between the students and their families through the embassy.
