Customers of a famous department shop in Tokyo Japan were stunned by a blatant robbery when a gold cup worth over 10 million yen disappeared from an unsecured display box.

The teacup which was made entirely of 24-karat gold was a part of a unique display at Takashimaya one of the city’s most well-known retail stores.

A thousand unique objects, including dinnerware, glazed tea sets, and cups, were reportedly on display for sale including the priceless cup that drew in customers with its shimmering beauty. Regretfully a bold criminal managed to steal the cup undetected due to inadequate security procedures.

Surveillance footage shows the culprit fleeing with the stolen gold cup prompting a frantic search by authorities. Takashimaya plans to enhance security to prevent future thefts.

In 2019, a $1.25 million gold commode created by artist Maurizio Cattelan was stolen from an exhibition at Blenheim Palace, UK, leaving authorities baffled.

According to reports the thieves caused major damage to the historic building during the heist by tampering with the palace’s drainage system and employing cars to transport the commode. Authorities are committed to recovering the pilfered artifacts and safeguarding the integrity of cultural heritage across the globe as they carry out further investigations.
