Recently, the General Administration of Civil Defense issued vital precautionary measures and warnings for the upcoming heatwave season.
They stated:
“Temperatures are forecasted to rise between 47 and 55 degrees Celsius in the coming days, accompanied by strong winds from cumulonimbus clouds in various areas. We have essential warnings and precautions to share.”
The notice provides precautions regarding:
– Beware of snakes, as they may emerge from underground seeking refuge from the scorching heat and could enter homes.
– Increase water and chilled liquids intake.
– Avoid storing gas cylinders in direct sunlight.
– Do not overload electricity meters.
– Try to remain indoors between 10 am to 3 pm.
Additionally, given the extreme heat, there are precautionary measures for car owners, particularly when parked outside. The greenhouse effect inside the car can elevate the interior temperature to over 65°C.
Here are some precautionary measures for your car during this severe heatwave:
– Avoid parking in direct sunlight to prevent the greenhouse effect, which can cause damage to the car’s interior.
– Never leave medicines in the parked car, as extreme temperatures can affect their efficacy.
– Take care with alcoholic items such as body sprays and car fresheners, as they can burst due to rapid expansion in extreme heat.
– Consider parking with windows slightly open if security permits, but be cautious of theft risks.
– Use coolant instead of water in the radiator to prevent rapid engine overheating.
– Note that insurance and warranty claims typically do not cover damage caused by the sun’s heat.
It’s important to heed these precautions to safeguard both yourself and your vehicle during the heatwave.
