Islamabad, Sep 20: Professor Ahsan Iqbal, Minister of Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, emphasized on Friday the urgent need for more Ummah unity in order to successfully handle the issues at hand, particularly the murders of innocent Muslims in Palestine, Gaza, and other areas.

“Unity within the Ummah is imperative, given that the two billion Muslims worldwide appear powerless against a nation of ten million that is murdering innocent civilians in Gaza, Palestine, and Lebanon,” the speaker declared. The minister was speaking at the National Skills University during the first day of the three-day International Seerat Conference.

He called for a solution to the current “knowledge and practice” dilemma and underlined the need of adhering to the teachings of the Holy Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) in order to succeed in this life as well as the next.

Sadly, he stated: “We Muslims are restricted to lip service and lagging behind in the real world.” Muslims in the modern day are experiencing a crisis in both knowledge and practice.Ahsan Iqbal observed that while Muslims in Spain had previously excelled in a number of professions, they were now falling short, with no Muslim scientist coming close to receiving a Nobel Prize.

He issued a warning, saying that certain people were only trying to incite hostility in society by deceiving the public, particularly the young to fulfill their evil plans, in the guise of religion and Namoos-e-Risalat (SAW). The minister stated that he was the son of a mother who, despite being targeted by such elements, was the one who first succeeded in getting the Namoos-e-Risalat (SAW) law enacted in Parliament.

Citing instances from Islamic history, he declared that Islam was a religion of peace, harmony, and brotherhood that forbade the taking of the lives of innocent people on the basis of their beliefs. He said that no one had the authority to question a Muslim’s faith or beliefs since Allah Ta’ala will decide this on the Day of Judgment.

He emphasized the value of nonviolent communication, especially in light of the difficulties presented by social media, and he stated that social media was the largest problem facing society today.
