Islamabad, Sep 25: Provincial Minister of Health and Emergency Services, Khawaja Salman Rafique, has announced the imminent launch of a Motorway Ambulance Service in Punjab.
The service will cover all motorways and adjacent areas, including 76 interchanges and 1,588 kilometers of motorway.
Speaking during a visit to a motorway interchange, Rafique emphasized the service’s importance in providing timely rescue, particularly for highway accidents. He described this as another significant welfare initiative by Chief Minister Punjab.
Previously, the minister had stated that this service would provide rapid medical assistance for critical cases on motorways. According to him, rescue teams are currently undergoing training to equip them with the necessary skills for these emergency services.
Moreover, Khawaja Imran Nazir, Provincial Minister of Primary & Secondary Healthcare, revealed that DHQ hospitals across the province have been briefed on the air ambulance and motorway emergency services.
“Ensuring the supply of medicines and doctors to remote hospitals is a priority. We are committed to providing the highest quality treatment to our people,” he added.
