Islamabad, Sep 14: Pakistan are all set to take on arch-rival India in their last pool match of Asian Champions Trophy Hockey at Moji, China.

The match will begin at 12:45pm Pakistan Standard Time.

Pakistan had defeated the host China the day before to secure a spot in the mega-hockey event’s semifinal. Abdul Tehman, Hannan Shahid, and Nadeem Ahmed each scored one goal to guarantee the Green Shirts’ victory in the pivotal game.

This previous week, the Team Green defeated Japan 2-1 to earn its first victory. Raiki Fujishima scored one goal for Japan, and Ahmad Nadeem and Sufyan Khan each scored one for Pakistan.

Pakistan’s past two encounters with South Korea and Malaysia resulted in draws.

India is the current champion, having won the fourth title after defeating Malaysia 4-3 in the championship match the previous year. Japan won the bronze medal with a 5-3 victory over South Korea.

Teams from Korea, Malaysia, Japan, China, and Pakistan are competing in the Asian Champions Trophy hockey event.
