Islamabad, Sep 13: Amir “King” Khan, a former professional boxer, has fanned the fires on a rumored return to the ring against Filipino boxing legend Manny Pacquaio.

Khan is well-known for his outstanding boxing career, during which he won two world titles in the light-welterweight division the WBA and the IBF and compiled an impressive 34-6 record.

Manny Pacquiao, who is considered as one of the best boxers of all time and is the only person in history to have won eight divisions in the world rankings, is a formidable opponent for him. There had reportedly been continuing, covert discussions about the fight.

Recently, Khan posted on the social networking platform X, tagging Turki Al-AlShikh, the Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority and a Saudi Minister, and asserting that he is “the only man who can make this happen.”

Should everything go according to plan, this will be just one more achievement for Saudi boxing, which has advanced significantly in terms of superfight hosting. Under the Riyadh Season banner, Saudi Arabia has recently staged high-profile fights like Oleksandr Usyk vs. Tyson Fury for the WBC Heavyweight championship. In December of this year, the kingdom will host a rematch.
