Islamabad, 28 Apr, 2025:European Nation Tightens Rules as Poland introduces stricter regulations for international students seeking higher education opportunities within its borders.
The country’s Senate recently approved a law aimed at reinforcing the academic purpose of student visas.
Language Proficiency Now Mandatory
Under the newly passed legislation, overseas students will now have to demonstrate strong language skills before obtaining a visa.

Applicants must prove proficiency at a B2 level in the language of instruction for their intended course.This measure is designed to ensure that students are adequately prepared for academic life in Poland.
Restrictions on International Student Intake
The reforms also impose a cap on the number of foreign students that universities can accept. No institution will be allowed to have international students making up more than 50 percent of its total enrollment.
Should a university exceed this threshold, it would be temporarily barred from admitting additional foreign students until compliance is restored.
Mandatory Attendance Reporting and Visa Conditions
Further tightening the system, universities will now be obligated to inform authorities if a foreign student stops attending classes.
Additionally, students holding study visas will no longer be eligible to apply for temporary residence or work permits.
