ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 16: Arshad Nadeem, the gold winner from Pakistan at the Olympics, has revealed his audacious goal to compete in javelin throw competitions till the 2032 Summer Olympics. During a news conference at the Governor House in Karachi, the renowned athlete expressed his goals of securing more worldwide recognition for Pakistan.

Arshad Nadeem, who created history in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris with his gold medal victory, declared his intention to retain his championship in 2028 and, if health permits, to compete in the 2032 Summer Olympics. He said,

This is just the beginning of my journey. I want to defend my title in 2028, and if I stay fit, I intend to participate in the 2032 Olympics as well.

Arshad reminisced about the tremendous support he has gotten and recalled the cordial welcome he received at the Lahore Airport from the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister, who also welcomed him to the PM House on Independence Day. Additionally, he thanked Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori for his kind recognition. “I am truly grateful for the honor I have received, which surpasses my medal,” he stated.

Arshad Nadeem was struck by how much the locals loved him in Karachi during his visit. “Every athlete is inspired to achieve by this love. He emphasized the inspirational power of public support, saying, “Seeing the crowd yesterday made me feel like if someone handed me a javelin, I could set a world record right there.”

Nadeem said that he will be meeting with the Army Chief in the upcoming days. “I am glad to see athletes from both India and Pakistan showcasing their talent on the global stage,” he said in response to a question on the performance of athletes from those countries.
