Islamabad, Dec 23: Indus Motor Company (IMC), as part of Toyota’s global “Start Your Impossible” initiative, invited Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem to Deaf Reach School’s Annual Sports Day in Lahore. The event highlighted perseverance, inclusion, and the importance of accessible education for deaf children.

Deaf Reach, established in 1998, focuses on empowering underprivileged deaf children and youth through a comprehensive program including education, skills training, job placement, and sign language development. Their efforts have positively impacted countless students and families.

In Pakistan, where 1.25 million children are deaf, less than 5% receive formal education. Addressing this disparity, IMC partnered with Deaf Reach to provide opportunities for economically disadvantaged children with sensory impairments, fostering significant social change.

At the event, Arshad Nadeem shared his inspiring journey of achieving a world record despite limited resources, motivating students. Supported by IMC since 2023, Arshad has reached remarkable milestones in his career. He also participated in sports activities with students, distributed certificates, and presented a souvenir to Mr. Daniel Marc, Director Operations at Deaf Reach School, Lahore.

IMC’s CEO, Ali Asghar Jamali, emphasized the company’s dedication to empowering individuals through partnerships like Deaf Reach and initiatives promoting inclusivity. Toyota’s global program not only supports athletic excellence but also encourages athletes to advocate for social progress.

Mr. Daniel Marc expressed gratitude for Arshad Nadeem’s visit, calling it a significant source of motivation for the students and praising IMC’s commitment to their mission.

Through its corporate social responsibility initiative, Concern Beyond Cars, IMC has consistently supported inclusivity and societal development. Over the years, the company has backed numerous athletes and changemakers, including karate champion Saadi Abbas, para table tennis champion Zainab Barkat, mountaineer Asad Memon, and boxer Shahir Afridi.
