ISLAMABAD : Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani, the chairman of the Senate, said that Pakistan and Turkiye have similar goals for regional growth, unity, and prosperity. He discussed these opinions with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on Monday in the Parliament House. The Foreign Minister made a request for a discussion on measures to strengthen multilateral cooperation with  Chairman of the Senate. In-depth talks throughout the conference centered on enhancing mutually beneficial relationships in order to broaden the connections for the benefit of both parties. Mutually beneficial international and regional concerns were also discussed.

Chairman Senate described Turkiye as a brotherly Muslim nation and underlined the strong and long-lasting relationship between Pakistan and Turkiye. He emphasized the close relationships that the peoples of the two countries share, which are supported by similar religious and cultural beliefs. He conveyed Pakistan’s gratitude for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership, noting that Pakistan holds Erdogan in the highest regard for his proactive role in guiding the Ummah on the global scene.

The Chairman Senate recalled his travel to Turkiye during his time as Pakistan’s prime minister with fondness, emphasizing the kind welcome and solid bilateral ties between the two countries.The Chairman of the Senate encouraged Turkish businesspeople to take advantage of Pakistan’s business-friendly prospects and advocated for a rise in bilateral commerce between the two nations. Additionally, he expressed his appreciation to Turkiye for its unwavering support of Pakistan at international fora, especially with regard to the matter of Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the Senate Chairman, attacking innocent Palestinians in Gaza is an extreme violation of their human rights. In order to bring about lasting peace in the Middle East and Palestine, he emphasized the critical necessity for coordinated measures.The foreign minister of Turkey highlighted Turkiye’s dedication to achieving unparalleled development in bilateral relations. He said he was willing to improve people-to-people and parliamentary contacts between the two countries.

During the meeting, Syed Hasnain Haider, the secretary of the Senate, Senator Sherry Rehman, and Senator Irfan Siddiqui were also present.
