Islamabad, Nov 6: President Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industries Atif Ikram Shaikh has appealed to the government to announce a comprehensive winter package for export-oriented industries to mitigate the challenges faced by the sector.
However, FPCCI cautioned that any conditional eligibility criteria tied to incremental gas consumption last year would unfairly exclude many industries. “Several units did not have gas supply connections, making it impossible for them to meet this condition,” Atif Ikram Shaikh explained.
Therefore, he said, FPCCI demands that the government offer the winter package without conditions, ensuring equal access to all export-oriented industries. This inclusive approach will boost exports, employment, and economic stability.
“We urge the government to prioritize the well-being of the entire export sector, rather than creating unnecessary distinctions,” Atif Ikram Shaikh emphasized. He assured the government of remaining committed to collaborating with the government to promote Pakistan’s economic growth and export competitiveness.
