Islamabad, Oct 7: Australian High Commissioner Visits Jamia Naeemia to Discuss Bilateral Relations and Promote Interfaith Harmony.Neil Hawkins, the Australian High Commissioner to Pakistan, visited Darul Uloom Jamia Naeemia on Monday and had a meeting with Dr. Muhammad Raghib Hussain Naeemi, the Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology.

The primary goal of the meeting was to strengthen Australia-Pakistan bilateral ties. Topics of mutual interest and religious harmony were also discussed. Hawkins visited the tombs of two distinguished intellectuals, Mufti Muhammad Hussain Naeemi and the late Dr. Sarfraz Naeemi Shaheed. In addition, he took a tour of the computer science department, the Hifz-ul-Quran department, the Muhadis-e-Azam Kachhochhvi Library Hall, and a number of classrooms.

Hawkins was educated on the educational and welfare activities being conducted by Jamia Naeemia. “Jamia Naeemia’s commitment to moderation is a beacon for thriving communities,” he said, praising the institution for its services to society and its moderate approach to education. The key to guaranteeing human development is the way towards peace.

Dr. Raghib extended his gratitude for the High Commissioner’s visit, underlining the significance of Pakistan-Australia diplomatic relations. He emphasized the Australian government’s efforts to support the Muslim minority in Australia, particularly through educational assistance, and stated that Pakistan is keen to further develop its diplomatic ties and collaboration with Australia.

Both leaders underlined the need of learning from each other’s experiences to maximize the benefits of mutual cooperation. As a thank you, Jamia Naeemia gave the High Commissioner a souvenir and an academic booklet at the conclusion of the visit.
