ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 12: The Aviation Ministry has chosen to begin looking into officials who may have been implicated in corruption inside the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

According to sources, the decision was made in response to many allegations of “corruption” inside the CAA.
The inquiry will also examine into direct hires made by the CAA, with a particular emphasis on the Flight Standards and SQMS divisions, where it is said that candidates with merit were passed over in the recruiting process.

Sources further revealed that staff-level jobs and the hiring of Additional Directors, Aero-Medical Directors, and other Assistant Directors were not done according to merit-based standards.

The Aviation Ministry received complaints about these merit infractions pertaining to the HR division.
In response, senior Aviation Ministry officials have made the decision to look into each of these issues in-depth and openly. The ministry has also decided to respond to the accusations of wrongdoing in projects and hiring practices.
