Islamabad, Oct 25: Awais Leghari Advocates for Strengthened Energy Cooperation with Power China and Energy China. On the fringes of the Third Belt & Road Ministerial Conference in Qingdao, China, Federal Minister for Power Sardar Awais Ahmad Khan Leghari met separately with Mr. Yao Huan, Vice-President of Power China, and Ni Zhen, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Energy China.
In order to improve Pakistan’s energy cooperation with these prominent Chinese energy corporations, the Federal Minister held productive talks during these meetings. The Minister of Power recalled Premier Li Qiang’s historic visit to Pakistan and expressed Pakistan’s intention to update its power transmission and dispatch systems in order to reduce losses and shorten lines.
Both parties discussed the potential for setting up a cutting-edge research and development facility in Pakistan to help integrate cutting-edge technology and industry best practices into the nation’s energy framework during the meeting with Vice President Yao of Power China.
In addition to improving operational performance, the planned center would help develop sustainable energy solutions that would benefit Pakistan and its allies, according to the minister of power.
Both parties discussed their perspectives on the future course of energy cooperation under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), including improving the energy mix and integrating new technologies into the power generation and dispatch systems, during the meeting with President Ni of Energy China.
