Islamabad, Oct 28: Ayaz Sadiq, Parliamentary Diplomacy Essential for Strengthening Pakistan-Russia Bilateral Relations. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the speaker of the National Assembly, stated on Monday that parliamentary diplomacy has always been important in bolstering Pakistan-Russian ties.
In order to foster mutual learning and experience sharing, Valentina Matvienko Ayaz Sadiq, who met with the Speaker of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, argued for ongoing interaction between the two parliaments, aided by parliamentary friendship groups and high-level exchanges.
Matvienko and her high-ranking parliamentary delegation were cordially received by Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. The goal of the meeting was to improve bilateral ties, with an emphasis on legislative cooperation for mutual gain. Ayaz Sadiq reiterated Pakistan’s long-standing, wide-ranging relationship with Russia, emphasizing that it is founded on the values of trust and respect for one another.
He underlined that Pakistan’s relations with Russia are an essential part of its foreign strategy.Madam Valentina Matvienko congratulated Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on his re-election and thanked everyone for the cordial welcome. “Russia appreciates Pakistan as an important actor on the international scene and applauds the nation’s efforts to promote world peace,” she said.
She underlined the value of teamwork in promoting peace and development on the regional and international levels and reiterated Russia’s support for Pakistan’s desire to join the BRICS.In response, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq thanked Matvienko for her comments and reaffirmed Pakistan’s dedication to working with Russia in all areas of mutual interest.
Ayaz Sadiq reflected on previous efforts to improve parliamentary relations, recalling how the first Six-Country Speakers’ Conference was organized in Pakistan and attended by peers from Afghanistan, Iran, China, Turkiye, and Russia.
Addressing shared concerns of regional significance was made possible in large part by this conference.He also spoke about his time at the 15th National Assembly of Pakistan as the Convener of the Pakistan-Russia Parliamentary Friendship Group.
