Islamabad, Mar 18, 2025: Pakistani actor Danish Taimoor’s is facing criticism over his remarks about men having the right to four marriages.
His statement, made during a special Ramazan transmission, has sparked a heated debate on social media.
The controversy unfolded while Taimoor was co-hosting a live television show alongside former news anchor Rabia Anam.
His wife, actress Ayeza Khan, was also present during the discussion.
During the segment, Taimoor stated that men are permitted to marry up to four times, adding, “The permission is there, but I haven’t exercised it yet—that’s another matter.”
He further clarified, “I won’t do it because I love and respect my wife, even though I still have the right.”
However, many viewers were unimpressed by his remarks, considering them unnecessary and inappropriate.
Social media users were quick to point out that while Islam allows multiple marriages, there are specific conditions that are often ignored in such discussions.
One social media user commented, “Men always remember their right to four marriages, but they conveniently forget the conditions that come with it.” Others felt that discussing this topic in front of his wife on national television was insensitive.
“Why bring this up when your wife is sitting right there? It was uncomfortable to watch,” remarked another viewer.

The backlash continues to grow online, with many urging celebrities to be more mindful of their words, especially on sensitive topics.
As of now, Taimoor has not addressed the criticism directly.
Danish Taimoor and Ayeza Khan are among Pakistan’s most beloved celebrity couples. Married since 2014, they share two children and are often praised for their strong bond.
However, Taimoor’s recent remarks have added an unexpected controversy to their otherwise admired relationship.
