Islamabad, Jan 27: Azerbaijan and Pakistan have strengthened their bilateral relations during the 8th session of the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission, which recently took place in Islamabad. Vugar Mustafayev, the Minister of Defence Industry of Azerbaijan, and General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, held a productive meeting to discuss enhancing military cooperation and expanding ties between the two nations.

The discussions focused on increasing collaboration in various defence sectors, emphasizing military-technical cooperation, and reinforcing the shared commitment to mutual growth. Both leaders acknowledged the success of their ongoing military partnerships and outlined steps to build on these achievements. The goal is to create a robust framework that can lead to further advancements in defence technology and strategic cooperation.

Additionally, the Azerbaijani delegation, headed by Mustafayev, met with Pakistan’s President, Asif Ali Zardari, who praised the long-standing friendship between the two countries. President Zardari expressed his satisfaction with the progress made through the Azerbaijan-Pakistan Joint Intergovernmental Commission, stressing the importance of continuing to deepen the partnership.

The session also provided a platform for broadening cooperation in other key areas such as energy, trade, ICT, agriculture, and climate change.
