During his official visit to Georgia, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Georgia’s Parliament Chairman Shalva Papuashvili. The parties discussed the current state of the region, prospects for inter-parliamentary cooperation, and the agenda for Azerbaijan.

Georgia’s strategic partnership. It was emphasized that mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, energy, transportation, communications, humanitarian sciences, and other fields characterized by strategic partnership is a source of satisfaction. The importance of ongoing work on the Middle Corridor and collaborative efforts was noted.

Furthermore, it was stressed how crucial it is to strengthen trilateral initiatives including Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Turkey at the ministerial and legislative levels.In order to further the multifaceted cooperation agenda between the countries, the Azerbaijani minister emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy, reciprocal visits between parliamentary leaders, and wide cooperation among friendship groups.

He gave legislative cooperation a positive evaluation for its role in promoting cordial and neighborly ties between the peoples of Georgia and Azerbaijan.In addition to highlighting new chances for enhancing collaboration within COP29, Bayramov gave updates on the planning for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which is set to take place in Azerbaijan this year.

The current post-conflict scenario, massive reconstruction activities in liberated Azerbaijani territories, actions addressing the mine threat, and ongoing Azerbaijani-Armenian normalization processes were all reported to the Georgian team.In the course of the meeting, the parties discussed a number of additional matters of mutual interest.Additionally, Minister Bayramov signed the Parliament’s Book of Honorable Guests.
