Islamabad, Aug 24: It has unearthed a huge fraud concerning the distribution of billions of rupees in subsidies to schools in Sindh. In their report released on Friday, they state that serious legal and regulatory violations were found during the audit, which raised questions about possible financial mismanagement in the distribution of subsidized payments to 27 schools.

The audit study shows that more than Rs. 8,532 million in subsidies were given to school owners in flagrant violation of established norms, even though their registration and National Tax Number (NTN) had expired.

The audit also notes that the 27 schools involved in this scheme did not have their enrollment and attendance records properly verified before these subsidized money were distributed.

The audit report has urged for an immediate investigation to hold those responsible accountable, characterizing this as a major violation of ethical standards.
