Islamabad, 24 Apr, 2025: British Council Exams in Pakistan will proceed as scheduled, the organization has confirmed, following a surge of misleading claims circulating online about their cancellation.

A statement released through the British Council Pakistan’s official digital platforms clarified that reports suggesting the suspension of school-level exams were entirely baseless.

The council emphasized that the information being shared on social media was fabricated and urged the public not to trust unofficial sources.
The misleading notice, which appeared to mimic an official document, quickly spread across various platforms, sparking confusion among students and parents.

However, the British Council reiterated that all planned assessments remain unaffected and will be conducted according to the original timetable.

Students, guardians, and school staff have been advised to stay informed only through official British Council channels to avoid being misled by false information.

The council has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining the integrity and consistency of its exam schedule.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, the Balochistan Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BBISE) has postponed its intermediate examinations, which were set to begin this week.

The exams were delayed less than 24 hours before they were scheduled to start, causing concern among candidates and educational institutions across the province.

The board cited “unavoidable circumstances” as the reason behind the abrupt postponement. However, local media outlets have reported that the delay was caused by a teachers’ strike.

Teachers reportedly refused to perform examination-related duties, leaving the board unable to implement the necessary arrangements on time.

As of now, the BBISE has not issued a revised schedule for the exams, creating uncertainty for thousands of students preparing for their assessments.
