Islamabad, Feb 11: BYD has introduced its new advanced driving assistance system, “God’s Eye,” aimed at integrating cutting-edge self-driving technology across its entire vehicle range, including the affordable Seagull hatchback, priced at 69,800 yuan (approximately 9,550 USD). This innovative system will be available in three different versions, each offering varying degrees of functionality, with some models featuring up to three LiDAR sensors for enhanced capabilities.

The entry-level version, “God’s Eye C,” is designed for standard BYD vehicles and uses a setup of three cameras placed behind the windshield. Powered by the DiPilot 100 system with 100 TOPS of computing power, this version also includes 12 cameras, 5 mm-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars. Together, these components offer a comprehensive 360-degree view of the surrounding environment and precise parking capabilities. The system can detect objects up to 300 meters away, making it ideal for a range of driving assistance functions.

For more advanced vehicles, the “God’s Eye B” version adds a LiDAR sensor to improve perception and is supported by the DiPilot 300 system, offering 300 TOPS of computing power. This version will be available in select models, such as Denza, Fang Cheng Bao, and high-end BYD cars. The top-tier version, “God’s Eye A,” features three LiDAR sensors and runs on the powerful DiPilot 600 system with 600 TOPS of computing power. This system will be included in BYD’s luxury brand, Yangwang.

Wang Chuanfu, BYD’s chairman, also revealed that all of the brand’s models, including those priced below 100,000 yuan (around 13,690 USD), will be equipped with the “God’s Eye” system. These vehicles will feature the Xuanji architecture, which integrates central processors, cloud AI, vehicle-side AI, and multiple networks for seamless operation. The system will also be connected to the Deepseek R1 model to further boost its AI capabilities.

The “God’s Eye A” and “God’s Eye B” systems support Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) for both city and highway driving. Although the entry-level “God’s Eye C” currently supports highway NOA, city NOA functionality is expected to be added in future updates, giving a glimpse of even more advanced autonomous driving features for affordable models.
