Islamabad, Oct 8: CAA inspections on PIA aircraft begin for flight safety
The Director General of Civil Aviation Authority (DGCAA), Nader Shafi Dar, announced that all Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) planes will undergo comprehensive inspections as part of ongoing efforts to lift the ban on flights to Europe, ARY News reported on Monday
. The European flight ban is expected to be lifted by November, following the release of the International Aviation Organization’s audit report.
Shafi expressed confidence in the increasing number of commercial flights to Pakistan, highlighting that the country’s air safety standards are currently the best in the region, surpassing those of India.
In addition, the CAA inspections on PIA aircraft have introduced new guidelines regarding Passenger Name Records (PNR).
Passengers will no longer be denied boarding due to discrepancies between their PNR at the time of booking and at travel time, addressing the numerous complaints received from travelers affected by such issues.
As the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) begins comprehensive inspections on Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) aircraft for flight safety, the airline is aiming to rebuild public confidence and meet international standards. These efforts are expected to facilitate smoother operations for PIA both domestically and internationally.
The CAA’s dedication to maintaining stringent oversight has been well-received by industry experts, who view this initiative as a vital step toward ensuring that safety remains a top priority.
This commitment not only strengthens PIA’s position but also signals readiness for international routes, particularly in Europe.
